For the welfare and development of not only the staff and the students of the university but also the staff from other sectors, the university jointly conducts other academic functions with Departments of Basic Education, Department of Planning, Research and Degree Training, Education Degree Colleges, Technological Universities, Military Nursing and Paramedical Institute. YUOE forms linkages and collaborations with some international higher education institutions and research organizations in order to promote the skills, capabilities and creativities of the students. YUOE jointly carries out different tasks such as seminars and round-table discussions with Nagoya University, joint research and exchange programmes with Kwansei Gakuin University, Ritsumeikan University, and AsTEN (Association of Asian Teacher Education Network) Member-Universities, educational workshops with Burapha University, projects on early childhood education with OSF, Teacher Competency Project with VSO, teacher-upgrading English courses with British Council, English language proficiency courses with East-West Centre, ECD Scale Project with UNICEF and Hong Kong University, Tuning Asia Project with EU, and Development of Teacher Competency Framework Project with UNESCO, ELT Development with the British Council through MmTESOL (Myanmar – Teaching of English for the Speakers of Other Languages) workshop, and proficiency development workshops on e-learning and media technology with Myanmar Wave (Singapore) and DAAD from (Germany).
